It is this that will be studied in detail in this article. When heated, calcium and magnesium salts are converted to a solid state. It is these impurities that clog narrow technological openings in heat exchangers. They also form a porous structure on the surface of electric heating elements. If normal heat dissipation is significantly disrupted, their housings are damaged.
To prevent the formation of scale and lime inside the boiler, it is advisable to install non-chemical filters (water converters), magnetic and electromagnetic, which will ensure a long “life” of your boiler and an uninterrupted supply of hot water, as well as protect the heating circuit.
Temperature zones

Other reasons for the error

Maintenance method
- Dismantling the heat exchanger. First, the water from the Ariston boiler is drained, and the inlet valves close the lines.

When igniting, there is no flame or the flame disappears quickly. There are several reasons:
- There is no gas supply, the valve on the pipe is closed.
- The ionization electrode has oxidized or moved away from the board.

Electronics failures (error 3**)
Such complex modern equipment as gas boilers are equipped with electronics for automatic operation and response to different situations. Control boards can fail as a result of aging, power surges, excessive humidity, or mechanical damage.
Error No. 301. Problems with the EEPROM board (non-volatile memory) of the display. If such a message appears, you need to check whether the EEPROM key is installed correctly on the motherboard. This must be done as described in the user manual for the corresponding model.
If the key works correctly, then you need to check the contacts of the cable from the motherboard to the display board. There may also be a problem with the LCD screen itself. Then it will have to be replaced.

Error #302 is a special case of the previous problem. Both boards pass the test, but the connection between them is unstable. Usually the problem is a broken cable core that will have to be replaced. Error No. 303: Main board faulty. Rebooting usually does not help, but sometimes it is enough to turn off the boiler from the network, wait and turn it on again (this is the first sign of aging capacitors). If this problem becomes regular, the board will have to be replaced.
Error #304: More than 5 reboots in the last 15 minutes. Talks about the frequency of problems that arise. You need to turn off the boiler, wait a while and turn it on again. You should monitor it for some time to identify the type of warnings if they occur again.
Error No. 305. Program crash. You need to let the boiler stand off for a while. If the problem persists, you will have to reflash the board. This must be done at a service center.
Error #306: Problem with the EEPROM key. The boiler needs to be restarted. If the error repeats, you will have to change the board.
Error No. 307. Problem with the Hall sensor. Either the sensor itself is faulty, or there is a problem on the motherboard.

Error No. 309. Registration of flame after blocking the gas valve. Error No. 102. Pressure sensor readings are outside the permitted range. This can be caused either by a problem with the pressure in the circuit or by a breakdown of the sensor itself.
The latter situation usually occurs as a result of wiring problems such as a short circuit or open circuit. It is necessary to ring the wire from the device to the central board.
You can ring the sensor itself with an ordinary tester. The resistance should be minimal - 1-2 Ohms. If it is missing at all, then the sensor will definitely have to be changed
Errors No. 103-107 occur at extreme values of coolant temperature. The system reaction occurs when analyzing the temperature in two places - at the water supply to the circuit and at the return point:
- № 103. 3 times within 4 minutes the rate of increase in the supply temperature exceeds 7 °C / sec.
- № 104. An increase in one of the indicators by a value exceeding 20 °C per second was recorded.
- № 105. The coolant supplied to the circuit is 55 °C hotter than the return flow. The problem was recorded 3 times in 4 minutes.
- № 106. The return temperature is 10 °C higher than the supply temperature. Recorded 3 times within 4 minutes.
- № 107. The return temperature is 30 °C higher than the supply temperature. Recorded once.
Considering that the temperature sensor has a simple design and, in fact, there is nothing to break, all that remains is to identify and eliminate the problem with insufficient coolant movement.
It may be caused by the following:
- Airiness of the heat exchanger or heating circuit. You may have to check the entire route for traffic jams.
- Filter clogged. This part needs to be cleaned or replaced.
- Pump fault. Replacement or repair of the device.
Error No. 108 is displayed according to the readings of the minimum pressure switch. It can be caused by the same reasons that are typical for errors No. 103-107. In addition, there may be a breakdown of the sensor or the wiring to it, as well as depressurization of the circuit and partial leakage of water.
If a leak occurs, the pressure in the system will drop. The gas boiler will stop on its own, which distinguishes it from its solid fuel counterpart or ordinary stove
Error No. 109 occurs when there is a problem with excess pressure - more than 3 Bar. This can happen if the make-up valve is not completely closed. For further work, it is necessary to drain some of the water to reduce the pressure in the circuit.
Error No. 110. Failure or simple wear of the temperature sensor. First of all, you need to check the contacts and integrity of the wire. If they are ok, then you will have to replace the sensor itself.
Error No. 111 occurs when the pressure in the circuit is below the permissible level. The factory settings for this parameter for Ariston boilers are 0.4 Bar. The sensor may be damaged or water may leak from the circuit.
Error No. 112. Problem with the return temperature sensor. You need to check its contacts or replace the sensor.
Error No. 114. Problem with the outside temperature sensor. You need to check its contacts or replace the sensor.
Error No. 116. Triggering (opening) of the thermostat for the safe operation of the heated floor. You need to close jumper TA2 on the main board. If the operation occurs again, then there are problems in the underfloor heating system. Usually this is the presence of an air lock.

Error 103, error 104, error 105, error 107 occur when there is a violation of the water circulation in the circuit, its absence or low pressure. This happens when air has accumulated in the system; to remove it in Ariston Egis Plus 24 boilers (Ariston Egis Plus 24), press and hold the mode button for 10 seconds. On Ariston Matis and Ariston UNO boilers, hold the rezet button for no more than 6 seconds. Malfunctions in the heating circuit
Fault code 101. The source is either the overheating thermostat or the NTC sensor at the outlet of the primary heat exchanger. The response temperature is 102 degrees, i.e. a signal about overheating of the coolant. The most common reasons:

Errors 103, 104, 105, 106 and 107 are of a similar nature (insufficient coolant flow and the consequence is local overheating), as well as 101 - the only difference is in the logic of the definition:
code 103 – too rapid heating of the coolant in the supply pipeline (speed more than 7 degrees per second);
code 104 – an increase in the temperature of the supply and return pipelines by more than 20 degrees per second;
105 – the difference between the temperature in the supply and return pipelines exceeds 55 degrees (3 times);
106 – the temperature in the return pipe exceeds the supply temperature plus 10 degrees (3 times);
107 - the temperature in the return pipe exceeds the supply temperature + 30 degrees once;
Error 108. The pressure in the heating system has dropped below the permissible level (for models equipped with a pressure sensor)
In most cases, to eliminate the error, you need to add water to the system (feed), but if such a problem occurs again after a short period of time (several days), you will probably have to look for the cause of the coolant leak or check the expansion tank.
Some Ariston models (for example, GENUS) have an automatic make-up function, which is activated when the pressure drops less than 0.6 bar (the threshold can be adjusted by the corresponding parameter in the settings).
